High Power DC Power Supply News

Telonic powers on with Kikusui and Magna Power products

Telonic Instruments will be exhibiting Kikusui's and  Magna-Power Electronics range of products at this year’s EMC Exhibition & Conference to be held at Newbury racecourse on 12/13th of October 2010.

Products on show will include the  Kikusui PCR-M Series Frequency Converters/AC Power Supplies, Electrical safety testers, Electronic loads and Magna-Powers range of High Power DC Power Supplies.

The Kikusui PCR-M Series Frequency Converters are available in 500, 1000 and 2000VA outputs. All three models have both AC & DC outputs.  AC voltage output is variable from 1 to 270VAC with an adjustable frequency range of 40-500Hz and DC from 1.4 to 380V.  Measurement functions include voltage, current, power, VA and power factor. RS232c with software is standard. GPIB, USB and analogue input cards are optional.

The Kikusui PWR series of  laboratory DC Power Supplies comprises of the PWR-L series at up to 80V, the PWR-M series with up to 320V and the PWR-H series with up to 650V all with 400 watt, 800watt and 1600 watt outputs models.  The PWR series offers constant voltage (CV)/constant current (CC) control within its specified power range.

The new TOS3200 Earth Leakage Tester joins Kikusui’s safety tester range including Withstanding Voltage Testers, Insulation Testers and Earth Bond Testers.

Magna-Power Electronics designs, and manufactures high power programmable DC power supplies, Their products can be found around the world feeding power to national laboratories, universities, and a wide range of industrial sites. The company’s experience in power electronics is reflected in its 2 kW to 900 kW+ product line.

MAGNA-POWER ELECTRONICS’s UK representative  Telonic Instruments LTD Announces THE NEW SOLAR ARRAY EMULATION POWER SUPPLIES: FROM 2 KW TO 900 KW+

Magna-Power Electronics Photovoltaic Power Profile Emulation (PPPE) software automatically calculates solar array voltage and current profiles based on user-defined parameters. These profiles can be sequentially sent to a Magna-Power Electronics' programmable power supply, which will emulate defined characteristics. The user can define a limitless number of profiles to be emulated and sequenced over a given time period.

Design and production validation for photovoltaic connected electronics requires a photovoltaic emulating power source with flexible output characteristics. For development and manufacturing, using photovoltaic arrays for validation is costly with uncontrolled source characteristics. By utilizing a power supply with user-programmable output characteristics, the user can evaluate the full range of power conditions.

Key features of the software are as follows:

·                   Automatic voltage/current profile calculation from reference parameters

·                   Hundreds of models available ranging from 0-4000 Vdc and 0-18000 Adc

·                   Auto sequencing through power profiles, at user-defined time intervals

·                   Graphical view of profiles; real-time output

·                   Flexible modeling for manual or automatic operation

·                   Compatible with Magna-Power Electronics dc power supplies.

·                   Up to 50 voltage and current points per curve, with piecewise linear approximation performed between points and higher point density around maximum power point

·                   RS-232 Standard;  TCP/IP Ethernet, GPIB, USB available
Magna-Power Electronics PPPE software operate with their dc power supplies which are available from the UK distributor Telonic Instruments Ltd. Telonic Instruments Limited has been supplying the electronics industry, research establishments & universities since 1968. Telonic is an ISO9001 Registered company.
